My name is Lina Kaas originally from Denmark, and I am a qualified integrative psychotherapy providing both short and long-term therapy to adult individuals and couples.
My aim is to support you in your journey gaining awareness of what is happening to you. The first important step in the healing process.
I believe there is 'no one size fit for all' approach in psychotherapy and I will take an integrative approach combining the best of counselling theories. I will offer a safe and confidential space to explore any issue that may be troubling you and will work collaboratively and respectfully to increase awareness and strengthen your resources.
I see myself as an active guide, who will help and support you through any issue or emotional distress you may face, focusing on the past, present and future as I believe they all play a part in who we are.
I have experience among others working in private practice in the UK and Singapore seeing clients coming from various ethnic backgrounds, beliefs and values.

How it works
In our first session we may explore the reason(s) for seeking therapy, and questions you may have. I invite you to share as much as you feel comfortable doing. I may ask you questions about your personal history and life experiences so that I get a full picture of your situation.
The session also offers an opportunity for you to decide if I am the right therapist for you at this time, which is paramount for a successful outcome.
Weekly sessions are most likely to facilitate the therapeutic process and it is best if we can find a regular time. I am aware that this is not always possible and try to offer some flexibility. Some people choose to come for a set period of sessions to help get through a difficult patch whilst others may come for longer.
The advantage of coming for longer is that it gives time to develop the therapeutic relationship making it easier to share deeper thoughts and feelings with the potential for greater and lasting change.
